About the Alien Archive

Cover of The Alien Archive, 1st edition

The Alien Archive is an illustrated catalogue of otherworldly beings by Sophia Rose, writing as I AM SOPHIA (1st edition, © 2026). Across 44 pages it documents 33 kinds of beings and phenomena reported around the world, arranged in seven families, each with its origin, characteristics, roles, relationship to Earth and place in popular culture.

This wiki reproduces the Archive's entries and expands each one with researched context from the Gnostic tradition and the history of each piece of modern lore.

The shape of an entry

Each being in the Archive is described under the same five headings, which this wiki keeps:

Origin
where the being is said to come from — a star, a system, a realm or a density.
Characteristics
form, temperament and abilities.
Functions / roles
what the being does within the larger cosmos.
Relationship to Earth
how it is said to interact with humanity.
Pop culture
where it appears in literature, teachings and media.

To these the wiki adds Gnostic perspective, Background and history, Reflection and References.

Why Gnosis?

The author's name is Sophia — the name of the Aeon of Wisdom at the center of Gnostic myth, whose light falls into the lower world and must be gathered back. The Gnostic texts found at Nag Hammadi describe a cosmos of radiant beings above (Pleroma, Four Luminaries, Barbelo) and imitating rulers below (Yaldabaoth, the Archons, the Counterfeit Spirit), and a human being who carries a spark of the higher light. That map lines up closely with the Archive's own division between benevolent light-beings, controlling or mimicking entities, and the free will of the human heart.

The domain of this wiki, magdalene, honors Mary Magdalene, who in the Gospel of Mary is the disciple who receives the Savior's hidden teaching about the soul's ascent past the powers.
